Make this heart-shaped pillow to add some love to your décor!
What You Need:
What You Do:
- If you have an old toss cushion you’re not using, try making this upcycle.
- First, grab your cushion insert and remove the stuffing. Use our template to cut out a heart
shape from the (pillow insert) fabric. You’ll need a front and a back piece.
- Sew the sides together using a small zigzag stitch, then re-stuff your cushion insert and
seal it closed.
- For the front of your cover, use the template to cut out another heart.
- Now, for the back, cut two pieces of fabric, each 8 x 14 inches. Hem the long edge of both
pieces, then lay them overlapping by about 1 inch. Pin them together, and use your template
to cut them into a heart.
- For the ruffle, make a strip of fabric 110 inches x 6 inches. Fold it in half lengthwise,
then create half inch pleats, pinning and pressing as you go. Don’t worry about perfection;
the texture is what makes it cute.
- Once you’re done, clip the ruffle around the edge of the front piece of your heart, right
sides together, and sew all the way around.
- Place your back pieces on top, right side down, and sew around the heart again.
- Flip it right side out, pop your pillow (insert) inside, and give it a fluff.
And just like that - you've got the cutest heart-shaped pillow, made from something you already
had.
