As a Digital Content Creator & Photographer, you will create compelling visual content to
engage our audience and drive product awareness. You will also contribute to photography efforts, ensuring
that both product and lifestyle images align with our brand's identity. A key part of the role includes
collaborating across teams to align social media and website content with business goals, and occasionally
assisting with our yarn department.
Salary: From $20 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation:
- Develop and post engaging, on-brand content which will be used across social media platforms.
- Produce how-to videos, DIY tutorials, and product showcases to captivate our audience.
- Collaborate with the team to generate content ideas that reflect current trends and our brand voice.
2. Photography & Photo Studio Management:
- Capture high-quality product and lifestyle images for use in catalogues, flyers, and on our website.
- Stay informed about upcoming promotions, sales, and new product launches to ensure timely photography
for marketing needs.
- Manage and operate in-house photo studio equipment, including studio lighting.
- Organize and maintain a well-catalogued digital library of product images for internal and external
use.
3. Social Media Strategy Development:
- Assist in creating and updating a strategic content calendar.
- Work with the administrative team to identify and promote slow-selling products.
- Ensure a minimum of two product images are posted weekly, while integrating Instagram Reels into the
content schedule.
4. QR Code Product Videos:
- Produce instructional videos demonstrating product usage, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and
website requirements.
- Format and upload these videos for seamless website integration.
5. Support for Yarn Department:
- Assist with knitting and crochet projects, demonstrating knowledge of both crafts at a basic to
intermediate level.
- Test and inspect yarn, tools, and accessories, providing feedback on product quality and performance.
Software Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator is essential.
- Familiarity with video editing software such as CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools is required.
- Experience with Canva and Lightroom is preferred for creating visually compelling content and photo
editing.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in content creation for social media, including familiarity with Instagram Reels and
TikTok.
- Basic to intermediate skills in crochet and knitting are essential.
- Skilled in product and lifestyle photography, with experience working in a photo studio environment.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing content schedules and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in video production and editing for both social media and website use.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, with a focus on creative marketing strategies.
