Wrap baby up in love with January’s DIY of the Month: Double Sided Receiving &
Swaddle Blankets.
Coordinate
your fabric choices to match baby’s décor or add a pop of colourful fun! Made by you, these
blankets can
keep baby cozy & secure during naptime or can be used as a burp cloth, a stroller cover & more!
Step 1: Select 2 pieces, 35" (90cm) of your favorite Fabricland Cotton Flannelette.
Step 2: Pre-wash the fabric in order to ensure no further shrinkage occurs.
Step 3: Iron fabric, otherwise fabric can be difficult to measure and cut if it has wrinkles.
Step 4: Measure a 32" (81 cm) square out of each piece of Flannelette. Place right sides together. If the fabric is lined up on the edges then you can just measure from the side.
Step 5: Sew 5/8" (1.6cm) around the edge of the blanket. Leave a 2" (6cm) opening to turn inside out.
Step 6: Turn Flannelette inside out so wrong sides are together.
Step 7: Add blanket binding around the edges with a zigzag stitch.
Step 8:Iron a woven label onto the corner to make complete with love.
