This simple tote bag project can be completed quickly, and is the perfect size to hold everything
you need on the go. The foam interlining gives this bag a sturdy look & feel.
What You Need:
What You Do:
- Start with one rectangle of cow print fabric, denim, and foam all measuring 38 x 17 inches.
- Working with one layer at a time, fold your piece in half with the right sides together. Sew
along the side then sew across the bottom.
- Now, create a triangle at each bottom corner by aligning the side and bottom seams together.
Measure and mark a 4 inch line across the corner and sew along the line. Cut off the excess
and repeat on the other side. Do the same thing with your denim and foam pieces, but
remember to leave an 8 inch opening in the bottom seam of your denim.
- Next, place your cow print and denim bags right sides together and pin around the top edge.
- For the straps, cut two pieces of webbing or belting measuring 21 inches plus seam
allowance. Position them 5.5 inches in from each edge with the straps facing down into the
bag.
- Now, place your foam bag inside the fabric bag layers and sew all the way around the top.
Flip everything right side out through the opening in the denim and sew the opening in the
denim closed. Pin around the top edge one more time and add a top stitch for a clean finish.
