Learn to make a fluffy oversized tote bag in this "Sewing in 1 Hour or Less" feature!
What You Need:
- Faux Fur, we used a print from the Arielle Collection
- Lining Fabric, we used Longhorn Décor drapery fabric
- Belting, for the handles
- Sewing Machine
- Marker
- Ruler
- Scissors or Rotary Cutter & Mat
What You Do:
- Start by cutting a rectangle of fabric that’s 34 x 20 inches. Fold it in half, with the right sides together, then sew a straight line down both sides of the fabric form the bag.
- Next, pinch the bottom of the bag so it makes a triangle shape and sew straight across to create the corner.
- Do the exact same thing with your lining fabric, but make sure to leave about a 5 inch gap in the middle of one seam so you can turn the bag right side out later.
- Flip your main fabric right side out, and tack down your straps so they’re facing down.
- Slide the main bag into the lining so the right sides are together and the straps are tucked in.
- Line everything up, and sew around the top edge.
- Pull the bag right side out through the opening in the lining.
- Once it’s fully turned, sew the hole in the lining closed, and you’re all done!
