Granny Square Pouch

A granny square pouch is easy to make, especially with our pre-made Crochet Granny Squares, and makes the perfect pencil case or make-up bag!

What You Need:

What You Need:

  • Step 1: Using your pre-made granny squares, crochet one additional round around each square.
  • Step 2: Arrange the four granny squares in a 2 x 2 layout and sew or crochet them together.
  • Step 3: Place the joined granny squares on top of a piece of felt. Cut the felt so it extends approximately ½ inch beyond the granny squares on all sides.
  • Step 4: Sew or glue the granny square panel onto the felt, making sure the pouch can comfortably fold in half.
  • Step 5: Fold the felt up to create the pouch shape. Tuck the felt sides inward and secure them with sewing or glue.
  • Step 6: Sew or crochet the side edges of the granny squares together to close the pouch.
  • Step 7: With right sides together, sew or glue one side of the zipper to the felt, ensuring the zipper opening faces downward.
  • Step 8: Fold the opposite edge of felt inward and attach the other side of the zipper by sewing or gluing it in place.
  • Step 9: Open the zipper and turn the pouch right side out. Your granny square pouch is ready to use!
