What You Do:

  1. Cut Out the Felt Pieces - Place your scissors onto the felt and trace the blade portion, leaving approximately 0.5 cm of seam allowance. Cut out two pieces – front & back.
  2. Embroider the Front Piece - Using gold thread, embroider your design onto one of the felt pieces. Create lazy daisy stitches, and use four strands of thread to achieve a fuller, more textured look.
  3. Create the Closure Tab - Cut a small strip of felt measuring 1.5 inches long and 0.5 inches wide. Sew it securely to the centre top edge of the front piece.
  4. Assemble the Cover - Place the front and back pieces together, aligning the edges. Sew around the sides using a blanket stitch. As you stitch, add a bead before starting each stitch.
  5. Add the Closure - Attach a small piece of brown hook and loop to the back of the case and the tab. Secure it using hot glue or a few small stitches.

NOTE: Scissor types vary. If the closure tab feature doesn't work for your scissors, you can stitch or glue two pieces of thin ribbon to the inside edges of your case to create a tie instead. This would ensure the cover stays on and your scissors are protected.
