Zipper Bag

The easiest way to make a zippered bag is by using our pre-sewn zipper.

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Mark and cut out a 9” square of fabric, with a ½” seam allowance on the sides and the bottom. You don't need to worry about the top seam allowance as it will be magically taken care of by the pre-sewn zipper.
  2. Cut out another identical square, and grab your pre-sewn zipper.
  3. Add your fabric in between the channels of the zipper, and sew along the zipper's fabric edge, making sure to catch all three layers.
  4. Machine or hand-sew the zipper closed in the area of the seam allowance.
  5. Put right sides together and sew along the edge, leaving a little bit of room along the zipper. Be sure to open the zipper before you sew.
  6. Once everything is sewn, flip your bag inside out and cut off any excess fabric.
  7. In the gap we left near the zipper you can add a loop of trim for a handle.
