A Sock Bunny is a super easy craft to do with kids aged 6-10 years, using materials you probably
already have at home.
What You Need:
What You Do:
- To make this Sock Bunny, grab a pair of socks, and lay them out flat.
- Remove the heel from one of the socks, cutting through both layers to cut the sock in half,
and set the heel aside. You will not need this heel piece for the project. Split these two
socks halves; one will be use for the ears and one for the arms.
- On the other sock, make a cut from the open end of the sock going up to the heel; the bottom
will be the bunny's legs and the top will be its body.
- Cut your arms in half, as you did to create the legs. Flip your arm pieces inside out and
then cut a little curve. Stitch the arms up, leaving the end open to add stuffing.
- Do the same to the legs, turning them inside out and cutting a curve. Stitch up to the top,
on both legs, leaving a 1" opening to add the stuffing.
- Now flip your arms and legs right side out and fill them with stuffing. Stitch the leg
opening closed, and add the arms to the body.
- Take the remaining piece of sock and cut it in half. These pieces will be the bunny's ears.
- With right sides together, cut the end into a curve. Cut approx 1” off the top and trim a
triangle of fabric off each side.
- Once you've sewn the edges, flip these pieces right side out and attach them to the head.
- To make your bunny come to life, add a ribbon to define the head and add some eyes. As a
final touch, embroider a little face.
