What’s cozier than a fleece blanket? Not much! How about a fleece blanket with a simple yet fancy
crocheted border? It’s easy when you use a Skip Cut Blade on your rotary cutter!
What You Need:
- Fleece
- Wool Blend Yarn
- 4mm Crochet Hook
- Skip Cut Blade
- Rotary Cutter
- Fabric Scissors
- Ruler
- Chalk Marker
- Optional: Pins
What You Do:
- Start with a 40” square of fleece, and mark a ½” away from the edge.
- Line up your ruler, and roll your Skip Blade Rotary Cutter around the border of your
blanket. Make sure you push down hard and use a self healing cutting mat underneath your
fabric. Once your border is complete, cut off the corners.
- Insert your 4mm crochet hook, through the right side of the fabric, into any hole along your
boarded. Pull the yarn (we like Tailor Yarns brand) through the fabric and chain one.
- In the hole to the left, create a single crochet and chain one.
- Fold back the hem as you go.
- Once you’ve reach the corner hole, create a single crochet as usual. Then, chain two, and
make another single crochet into the same hole.
- When you reach the last stitch, single crochet into the first hole and tie off. Thread the
excess yarn behind the folded over fabric.
This technique can be used on a blanket of any size, so get creative!
